提多书3:4-8
4但到了神我们救主的恩慈，和他向人所施的慈爱显明的时候，5他便救了我们，并不是因我们自己所行的义，乃是照他的怜悯，藉着重生的洗，和圣灵的更新。6圣灵就是神藉着耶稣基督我们救主，厚厚浇灌在我们身上的。7好叫我们因他的恩得称为义，可以凭着永生的盼望成为后嗣（或作可以凭着盼望承受永生）。8这话是可信的，我也愿你把这些事，切切实实的讲明，使那些已信神的人，留心作正经事业（或作留心行善）。这都是美事，并且与人有益。
4But—When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, 5he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.#3:5 Greek He saved us through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. 6He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. 7Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life. 8This is a trustworthy saying, and I want you to insist on these teachings so that all who trust in God will devote themselves to doing good. These teachings are good and beneficial for everyone.
